Classes on social skills help outcasts flourish

Some psychologists believe that more and more kids
are lacking social skills because the neighborhood gang that
allowed for anybody on the street to play on almost any day
has been all but erased by the overscheduled child, who spends
most afternoons in day care or an after-school music class
or on a sports team.
For the most part, children who enroll in a social skills
group are social outcasts, both in the classroom and on the
